It’s time to answer the call.

You’ve felt it for years: the quiet but persistent voice telling you that your story needs to be told.

But you’re feeling stuck. Scattered. Uncertain. Every time you sit down to write, self-doubt sets in:

  • “Who am I to write a book? Would anyone even care?”

  • “What if I spend years writing this and it’s all a waste of time?”

  • “What if I don’t have what it takes to write a memoir worth reading??”

You’ve read the books on memoir craft, listened to the podcasts, prayed for a surge of inspiration and confidence. But you still feel like you’re wandering through the desert with no idea how to get from where you are to the beautiful, finished memoir you envision.

If that’s you, you’re not alone.

Writing a book, especially a memoir, can feel incredibly intimidating.

But that fear isn’t a sign that you should stop. It’s proof that your story matters.

“Finish Your Life-Changing Memoir” is a free, 90-minute, interactive training to show how to forge that fear into your most powerful asset.

You’ll learn my ARC Framework—the 3 essential forms of support that help you write through fear, find clarity, and finally bring your memoir to life.

By the end of this free training, you’ll know:

  • Why fear is actually a green light, a sign that your story needs to be written.

  • How your fear can show you the way forward, bringing clarity and purpose.

  • Exactly what to focus on to stay grounded and make consistent progress toward a memoir that matters.

You don’t need more books on memoir craft or a more interesting life. You just need to know how to quiet your doubt and find clarity—so you can finally write the story that won’t let you go.

It’s time to get your memoir out of your head and onto the page so it can start changing lives.

“Time with Mara is instructive, inspiring, and encouraging. You won’t regret it!”

- Leslie K.

I’m Mara!

With 16+ years of experience as a writing teacher and professional editor, I know a thing or two about what makes a story work—and how to help a writer get there, while also gently nurturing their creative soul.

I've worked on 36 books and counting, published with Penguin Random House, Broadleaf, InterVarsity, Cambridge University, Oxford University, and others, as well as authors choosing to self-publish. Plus, I’m a writer myself, so I know what it’s like to be in your shoes.

I believe that words can change the world and that, with the right help, anyone can produce a truly great book.

I’ve helped over 60 writers make progress on their memoirs, and I can help you too!

What it’s like to work with me:

“These exercises were incredibly powerful. Because of Mara's help, I actually have confidence to dig into this memoir project fully expecting to make progress!”

- Nicole W.

“Mara is such a talented and thoughtful writing teacher! I've learned so many excellent techniques for improving my writing craft. I trust her implicitly as an editor, coach, and thought partner for anyone who wants to improve her skills and build her confidence as a writer.”

- Ariel Curry, Acquisitions Editor, Sourcebooks

"Every week I learned something new! From how to structure a personal narrative essay or memoir to how to elevate the reader's experience by engaging their emotion and entertaining with details — I grew so much as a writer!"

- Katie K.

"I just finished last week's exercise, and I found it so helpful and so revealing! It changed my perspective on my whole life!"

- Shelley B.

“Mara wasn't just an instructor; she was a mentor who genuinely cared about my success. Her commitment went beyond sharing knowledge; she provided tools, skills, and, above all, her heart for aspiring writers.”

- Carolyn D.

“I stumbled upon Mara Eller as a writing teacher and editor after working on my memoir for ten years—yes, ten years of adding and subtracting chapters, changing titles, and a gazillion rewrites. Mara’s input helped crystalize my theme, refine my voice, and strengthen my message. My memoir is finally published, and I couldn’t have done it without the skill and confidence I gained from working with Mara.”

- Ann Averill, author of Unmoored: How an Adoptee Found Her True Identity

Don’t let your story go untold.

Writing your story will change lives, starting with your own.

If you’ve been feeling that persistent nudge to write a memoir, you’ve also likely been plagued by doubt that anyone would ever want to read it. How do I know that? Because literally every writer is, no matter how famous or acclaimed or successful.

But your story matters. It could be the lifeline someone out there needs to keep hope alive when all seems lost or the shot of adrenaline that enables them to finally make the change they’ve known was needed but didn’t have the courage to initiate.

And even if no one else ever reads it, writing your story will change you. You’ll gain a clearer sense of who you are and who you’re becoming, so you can better fulfill your purpose on this earth.

If you’re like most clients I work with, that nudge isn’t going away. It will just get stronger. So do yourself a favor and get started.

You have a story worth telling. I’d love to help you get one step closer to that goal.

Join me March 24 (replay included) to learn my 3-part framework to help you stop stalling and start writing—so your story can finally come to life.

"Writing is a tool of transformation . . . bringing us closer to our souls."
